John Chow, the 'make money online' guy and Bernadette Giet of the Wealthy Wilma Book Club will be speaking at the Financial Services Marketing Meetup on December 9th.

John Chow has a long history of successful internet marketing at JohnChow.com. With over 50,000 followers on Twitter, John Chow ranks among Canada's most influential tweeters and sponsored tweets are his newest way of making money online. His sponsored tweets were reported in the Vancouver Sun, then really got huge when they hit the New York Times last week. John will be joining us to discuss his thoughts on internet marketing and connecting with clients online.

Wealthy Wilma
Bernadette Giet founded the Wealthy Wilma Book Club to empower financial independence for women through a light-hearted and irreverent approach to investor education.

With over 400 Wealthy Wilmas in six countries, Bernadette is making the subject of finance more approachable for women. She made a big splash with her interview on BNN and in a profile about her club in the Vancouver Sun.

Each month, the Wilmas get together to discuss a new book, this month it's Ask for It. You can follow Bernadette here on Twitter.

$90 click leaves bad taste in this attendee?s mouth! I wholeheartedly agree with Susan?s comments; she so eloquently said it all. If a person or corporation must take advantage of the poor and unsuspecting to become rich; then let me continue to live my modest but HONEST lifestyle. Shame, shame on you John Chow and anyone else who runs their business in such a manner.

Wealthy Wilmas: Topical, entertaining, and thought provoking. Well presented. Enjoyed tremendously. John Chow, Honest, informative, great content. Love the no nonsense style. Was great to meet John. Venue was fine if somewhat noisy from downstairs.

It was a great opportunity to hear the success stories from people who have taken their fate into their own hands.

Great group, lots of questions for the speakers - who were captivating.

Bernadette was a lovely speaker, enigmatic and authentic, funny and smart. She shot from the hip and sounded like a real person who genuinely cares about women and their finances. John Chow on the other hand was very different, he told a great story of how he got started, and sure, he makes lots of money, but not in the most honest of ways. Not really my thing, but interesting.
    •  Great event! Bernadette is a great speaker and is on a mission to empower women through "Wealthy Wilmas". John Chow provided some great insight about "blogging". It was an awesome evening. Can't wait for the next one!
    •  This my first meet up with the VFSMMGroup. I felt welcomed and comfortable, met a few folks. It was a positive experience and I look forward to attending future events. Good job David ir organizing tonight, and the two speakers were inspiring. I especially enjoyed the Wealthy Wilma introduction, her story resonated with my own life experiences and values. John Chow's subject matter was intriguing, and then became overly technical (for me). I enjoy writing and although I don't currently have a blog, I WANT to start one. the idea of earning HUGE income is woweee very motivating. However, I feel some of the topics touched on are, well, to me, they feel unethical, and so I was turned off by -- (1) collecting subscribers email addresses, so that you can sell their e-address to SPAMMERS, (2) other cons he mentioned (somewhat giggling) that take advantage of people, and obviously are very lucrative for the con artist/entrepreneur. John Chow concluded on that unethical tone.
    •  Bernadette was a great speaker. It was an inspiration to listen to her story.

Two very different speakers with thought-provoking messages. Bernadette's mission to education women about finance is one that merits universal support. From an altruistic point of view, it will make the world a stronger place! From an industry perspective, the more that women are comfortable discussing their finances, the more they will feel comfortable working with and hiring financial experts to grow their wealth. So from all point of views, it's a good thing to help Bernadette spread her critical message . John Chow was so specific and open about information and that makes for a valuable learning experience! Thanks John for your mind-boggling information which makes me think in a different way. Thanks for the meeting!
